The boring page

Privacy policy

Short version: no cookies, no tracking, no ads, no analytics, and we don't sell anything about you. The few bits of personal data we do handle are listed below, with what we do with them and for how long.

Who we are

No Supervision is an independent game studio from Sweden. The studio is run by a Swedish limited company (aktiebolag), which is the data controller for everything on this page.

Questions, requests or complaints about your data: .

Visiting this website

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel's servers record basic technical information when your browser asks for a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure; Vercel keeps them for a short period and then deletes them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a working, secure website.

Fonts, images and videos are all served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your data to Google Fonts, YouTube or anyone else. The Discord member count on the site is fetched by our server, not your browser, so Discord doesn't see you until you choose to click through to it.

What the site saves in your browser

We don't use cookies. The site keeps two small things in your browser's local storage, only so it can remember your choices:

  • Your incident report (the site's achievements), your spark count and whether sound is on.
  • Whether you turned the 3D on or off.

This never leaves your device: we can't see it, and it isn't used to track you. You can delete it any time in your browser settings, or right here:

Emailing us

If you email hello@nosupervisionstudios.com, we receive your address, name and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and keep the conversation for as long as it's useful for that (and for any legal record-keeping a company has to do). Our email runs on Google Workspace. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering messages.

Playtest signups on our Discord

When you apply for playtests through the signup button on our Discord server, we receive:

  • your Discord username and user ID (and from the ID, roughly when your Discord account was created),
  • your answers: which games you want to test, your PC and controller, when you can play, and anything else you write.

We use this only to choose playtesters, to give approved testers the Playtester role and access to builds, and to send you a message about the result. Applications are kept in a private channel that only the studio can see, until the playtest round they were for has finished, and never longer than 12 months. Then we delete them. Legal basis: your consent, given by sending the application. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we'll delete your application.

Our Discord server in general

Anything you post on our Discord server is handled by Discord under Discord's privacy policy. As server moderators we can see and remove messages posted there, like any server owner. Discord's own rules require members to be at least 13 years old.

Services we use

These companies process data for us, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Google (Workspace): email.
  • Discord: our community server and the playtest signup.

All three are based in the United States. Transfers of personal data there are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or stop using it, or to hand it over in a portable format. Email and we'll answer within a month. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.

Changes

If we start doing something new with data (say, adding a newsletter), we'll update this page first and change the date at the top.
